Flexibility and Adventure for Kids

This cozy journey is designed to match the pace of your family. You’ll find plenty of fascinating activities on the farms you visit, from hands-on farm work to bamboo weaving and pottery. The itinerary includes overnight stays with a lama family at their monastery. While the accommodations are fixed, daytime activities are flexible, allowing you to tailor your experiences based on the mood and interests of the children. Our local tour guides are well-prepared for family travel and can adapt to spontaneous activities.

Slow Family Travel

Our Slow Family Travel concept emphasizes relaxed travel with children, offering opportunities to connect with local families. Short walks and explorations of the region’s flora and fauna are included, and depending on your travel dates, a vibrant festival may be part of your journey!

Day 1: Arrival at Samdrup Jongkhar
Pick up from airport or hotel at Guwahati and transfer to Bhutan

Day 2: Drive to Trashigang, village stay
Drive to a lovely remote village with plenty of (sightseeing) stops on the way – farmstay

Day 3: Trashigang, village stay
Explore farm & meet with bamboo basket weaving artisans

Day 4: Trashigang, village stay
Explore surroundings and drive / hike to a beautiful monastery nearby

Day 5: Drive to Trashigang Lingkhar
Continue to Lingkhar, maybe school visit on the way, rest at beautiful lodge

Day 6: Stay at Family Gonpa
Visit Radi village & raw silk weavers, later continue to a little gonpa

Day 7: Stay at Family Gonpa
Explore premises and surroundings of gonpa with local family

Day 8: From Trashigang to Mongar
Continue to Mongar, maybe visit Drametse on the way

Day 9: From Mongar to Lhuentse
First visit Khoma village and later continue to farmstay of a lovely extended family

Day 10: Lhuentse, village stay
Farm life with local family, maybe hike to the family gonpa nearby

Day 11: Lhuentse, village stay
Relaxed morning with family, later Lhuentse Dzong visit with pottery on the way

Day 12: Lhuentse, village stay
Excursion to Tangmachu with Takila (large Guru Rinpoche statue), easy walking & picnic or farmhouse visit

Day 13: Return to Trashigang
Return drive to Lingkhar, with plenty of stops on the way

Day 14: Trashigang
Rest and explore premises which include archery ground! Khuru (tart) can be arranged.

Day 15: Return to Samdrup Jongkhar
Return to border town with plenty of stops on the way

Day 16: Departure
Transfer to Guwahati airport or hotel
