This lovely small farmstay is located in Tangmachu, a village in Lhuntse, East Bhutan. The ladies of the house, Aum Sherab and Aum Tshering Dolma, are mother and daughter. Not only are they great hosts but additionally they are known for being great singers of traditional songs. Enjoy the home cooked meals from locally produced vegetables and of course ara, the local moonshine, that will keep flowing. Most likely mother or daughter will sing a song or two for you. This is a lovely and charming household beautifully nestled among rice fields. Aum Tshering Dolma is a weaver and if you are interested she will show you some of her pieces and how to weave on the back-strap loom.
From here you have many options for hikes:
Hike up to Takila nearby where the largest Guru Rinpoche in Bhutan is towering over the valley. Another option is to conduct a day excursion to Tsherbung Gompa or just stroll through the villages nearby and visit Kurje Lkhakhang, a cave where Guru Rinpoche used to meditate.
